Someone must have had a monitor with the digital broadcast signal playing back inside the news studio. Since radio and television signals have to go through a number of digital hoops, bells and whistles before it gets broadcast, there’s an inherent delay when the audience get the digital signal on the receiving end. If that’s the case, then he heard the echo in the studio, coming from the sound of a digital television.
