Watching the Dallas Mavericks Jason Terry being interviewed before tonight’s NBA Final game I couldn’t help but think of this scene from The Simpsons episode Lisa The Greek:
Homer and Lisa watch a pre-game show.
Football player [being interviewed]: This team is fired up. We came here to play!
Homer: Aw right! [picks up the phone to place his bet]
Lisa: He’ll lose.
Homer: What? Didn’t you hear what he said?
Lisa: Look at the fear in his eyes, listen to the quiver in his voice. He’s a little boy lost in a game of men.
So my advice for Dallas fans this evening is this: Don’t become too emotionally invested in your team’s performance during the first three quarters. They could be up by 20 and you’d still be setting yourself up for heartbreak.
If you’re a Miami fan, count your lucky stars that John Starks isn’t on this Riley team.

If ABC / ESPN wants to sell HDTV broadcasting to the masses, and doesn’t want vomit flowing through the streets, they should never ever again interview Mark Cuban while he sweats his sloppy self on his pre-game stairmaster. F’ing disgusting!
