KHON’s Tannya Joaquin Follows Up Meat iPod

January 25th, 2006 · No Comments · News

The squeaky wheel gets ground into fine metallic powder around here, more often than not. Thankfully KHON’s Tannya Joaquin made sure this wasn’t the case last night when the late local news ran her followup piece on the mystery meat iPod.

After our report aired, KHON2 was able to confirm a similar sealed hunk of meat or fish was found at a Honolulu Sharper Image store, several months before.

As for Jacob, he’s now enjoying his replacement iPod…

Now, even they can chuckle over their 15 minutes of fame.

There have been reports online that a former Wal-Mart employee is under investigation for tampering with iPod boxes.

Thanks to Tannya’s story we’re pretty confident that either an employee at the store is the culprit, that or someone in Alaska?

Alaska?

Apple products are shipped in from Asia and go through Alaska’s US customs inspection where they sit long enough for some jerk to make a switch. With stories of UPS workers arrested for pilfering their shipments this past holiday season, we wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case.

Now we just hope the national media picks up on the story, but we could go on about that one forever. At least people in Hawaii know “the rest of… the… story” and more power to the Cambras for being able to laugh this whole mess off. They’re bigger people for it.

Now if only the headline read: Mystery meat takes on life of its own! Run for your lives!
