“American Idol” 2004 runner-up Jasmine Trias had a hard time convincing her audience that she is Ilocano, just like them.
This, although they had come in droves to Plaza Burgos on Sunday evening, patiently waited for her to come out onstage, and then wildly cheered and applauded her.
“You don’t believe me? I am Ilocano, I really am,” she said a few minutes into the show. The crowd went quiet. “My mother is from Zambales. She’s a Soriano!”
Why she brought this up in the first place is anyone’s guess.
