Coming face to face with the gunman, Josh says there’s only one thing you can do. “When someone has a gun in your face, don’t give them any reason to pull the trigger,” he says. “That’s it, there’s nothing you can do.”
He says he was just concerned with keeping his wife safe. “I just covered my wife and protected her and that was it,” he says. “And off he went.”
Josh insists that this type of crime is unusual for the tropical island. “It’s not a reflection of how Hawaii is,” he says. “The police officers were really shocked that he had a gun — that’s very rare.”
And now the star just wants to move on. “This was just unfortunate,” he says. “We just want to let it go.”
