Samuel L. Jackson’s Achievement in Acting Award

November 2nd, 2005 · No Comments · News

Couple of tidbits from the Star-Bulletin:

The Hawaii International Film Festival’s “An Evening with Samuel L. Jackson” is Friday at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel Monarch Room, with a cocktail reception from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by a 90-minute “conversation” with the actor. Jackson, who filmed part of his latest picture, “Snakes on a Plane,” on Oahu in August, will receive HIFF’s inaugural Achievement in Acting Award. Tickets are $20. Visit www.hiff.org. The event will be featured in Variety.

Yep, snakes on a plane. Also, a film director is scheduled to direct and episode of Lost, and a potential Lost spoiler that’s been on the net for the past month…

Feature-film director Darren Aronofsky (”Pi,” “The Fountain”) will direct an upcoming episode of ABC’s “Lost,” likely airing at the beginning of the May sweeps. Aronofsky says he had been watching “Lost” while in Montreal shooting “The Fountain” and got hooked … The upcoming death on “Lost” is pretty gruesome and the killer will be featured rather prominently in an upcoming issue of TV Guide magazine.

The Stink’s pre-emptive movie review of Snakes on a plane!: It’s doo-doo.
