Here’s the document from the Mayor’s Office obtained by The Stink regarding Oahu Zip Code Changes (PDF).
Dated April 11, 2005, it states that effective July 1, 2005 Oahu will be changing its zip code from 967xx to 968xx . Outer islands will retain the 967xx code.
So far no mention of it from the media or on either the USPS or Hawaii.gov websites.
Elaborate ruse, or Public relations nightmare? You make the call. What do you think?
Update: Actually we made the call… to Da Mayah and Yes, it’s official. The USPS will be announcing the change shortly. PR nightmare averted.
