There’s a nice piece in the UMass Daily Collegian covering locations used on the island of Oahu including Mokuleia Beach, Kualoa Ranch, Waimea Valley Audubon Center, and Byodo-In Temple.
Anyone familiar with Hawaii immediately could have told them that they were on the island of Oahu - and more specifically, somewhere in Kaaawa Valley region, not all that far away from civilization, some hot showers and really refreshing shave ice.
